1. Make a slip knot on your hook. Insert the hook through the elastic, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through both loops (your first sc around the elastic).
2. Rnd 1: Work 59 more sc around the elastic, pushing the stitches together to cover it. Join with sl st to first sc. (60 sc)
3. Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in same st. 3 dc in each st around. Join with sl st to top of beg ch-3. (180 dc)
4. Optional Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in each st around for a crisp edge. Join.
5. Fasten off. Weave the ends through Round 1 and trim.

Finished! Fasten off and admire it.

Crochet bows are everywhere: on barrettes, ponytails, bags, and gift wraps. This one is a small single crochet rectangle, pinched and wrapped.

3. Rows 2–10: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. (20)
4. Fasten off, leaving a 60 cm tail.
5. Pinch the rectangle in the center. Wrap the tail tightly around the pinch 10–12 times.
6. Secure the tail at the back with a few stitches. Glue or sew the bow to a barrette or clip.

For a longer, trailing bow, make a second strip (ch 7, 30 rows of sc) and sew it behind the center as the 'tails'.

Finished! Fasten off and admire it.
